Routine Cervical Screening (Smear) Tests continue to take place at the Practice. Please contact the Practice to book an appointment. We also have appointments on Saturdays.
Patients with a cervix, aged 25 – 64 are invited for cervical screening tests every three to five years. Cervical cancer causes hundreds of deaths each year, but can be caught early when there are only minor abnormalities which are treatable. It is, therefore, very important that all patients with a cervix attend for regular screening.
Having a cervical screening test is a very simple and quick procedure that saves many lives by detecting cervical cancer cells. We would recommend that you attend for your screening. Further information is available at www.cancerscreening.nhs.uk.
