Carers

Are you looking after or providing support for a relative friend or neighbour? Are you being helped or supported by a relative friend or neighbour?

Your GP needs to know so you can be offered the right information, support and access to services. GP surgeries have to compile information for the government about the numbers of carers attached to the surgery so your information will help them to do this.

Signpost for Young Carers

Offers help via various means but likes to focus on the family unit by providing support for the patient to allow the child to step back from the caring role, helps the parent with attendance to hospital appointments, parents evenings and work with adult and child social services.

It also offers groups which can be accessed by the children where they can meet with other children in similar situations as well as offer an opportunity to give support to the young person. We as GPs can refer to signpost, there is a referral form on the website, you need permission from young person and parent to do so.
