To reduce the risk of spread of Coronavirus to you and staff all appointments will now be via Video Consultation. Please DO NOT ATTEND THE PRACTICE unless instructed to do so by a GP.
If you have a FEVER/HIGH TEMPERATURE and/or NEW CONTINUOUS COUGH, you do not need to speak to a member of the Practice Team. You must SELF-ISOLATE for 7 days. Follow the guidance below.
If you are unwell and need an urgent assessment, you will need to contact 111 by phone. The Practice is unable to carry out testing for Coronavirus.
The UK Government are advising that Patients aged 70 or over, or anyone with underlying health conditions are more at risk of severe illness and advise to follow social distancing measures.

Advice for those living in the same household as someone showing symptoms
if you live with others and you or one of them have symptoms of Coronavirus, then all household members must stay at home and not leave the house for 14 days. The 14-day period starts from the day when the first person in the house became ill
For anyone in the household who starts displaying symptoms, they need to stay at home for 7 days from when the symptoms appeared, regardless of what day they are on in the original 14 day isolation period.
All prescriptions will be sent electronically to the Pharmacy of your choice. If you have not chosen a Pharmacy, please include this on your request. All prescriptions should be requested via our Online Services or by email to STOCCG.MarpleCottageReception@nhs.net
Prescriptions will be processed by the Practice in two working days. Once the prescription has been sent to the Pharmacy it may take up to two working days for them to process your prescription.

Registration for Online Services
Complete our Online Services Registration Form and return to the Practice along with the correct forms of identification.
You can complete the form electronically and return to the Practice by email, accompanied with a photograph of your Passport or Photocard Driving Licence, along with a photograph of you holding your Photographic ID.
The Practice also offers proxy access to online services, for example to Parents of young children. For more information see our Online Services section of the website.

Below are a list of organisations who are offering support during the Coronavirus pandemic.
Marple COVID-19 Mutual Aid Group
Practical support putting people in touch with local delivery services or other services. They are currently using volunteers to help deliver prescriptions. Volunteers have all given proof of address and they also have a list of DBS checked volunteers.

Support for Extremely Vulnerable from Gov.uk
Register if you have a medical condition that makes you extremely vulnerable to coronavirus. For example, you’ll be able to ask for help getting deliveries of essential supplies like food.

The helpline will provide advice and tell you how you can access support. You can call the helpline if do not have a network of family and friends you can call upon for support, particularly if:
- you are over the age of 70 and you are self-isolating
- you have received a letter from the NHS advising you are high risk and should stay at home
- you are medically vulnerable according to the government criteria and should stay at home.
Call handlers will be able to provide advice about how you can access local support.

In response to the developing situation with COVID– 19 The Prevention Alliance have made some changes to the way we are working to protect both the people we work with, as well as our staff.

Welcome to Marple Cottage Surgery
Marple Cottage Surgery is situated on the outskirts of Stockport, and near to the border of the Peak District. Our staff share a commitment to high-quality, personal primary health care for our 7,200 patients. We have special interests in diabetes, asthma, heart and other cardiovascular disease, women's health, dermatology, minor surgery and sports injury/medicine.
The nursing team have responsibility for health screening and prevention, including asthma, diabetes, heart disease, childhood immunisations and running our in-house weekly anticoagulation clinics.
As a training practice we work with GP registrars and also take part in the teaching of medical students from Manchester Medical School.
