Patient Choice
Patient Choice is a Government initiative about providing patients with a range of suitable options for their healthcare needs. The practice is committed to providing choice for patients and will provide information about choice options if you need to be referred for further care. They may be times when your doctor or nurse feels that you should see a particular specialist for the care that you need and they may recommend a certain option to you. If you need to be referred for further care, please feel free to ask about the different choices available to you.

Choose and Book
As part of this choice initiative the Government has developed a electronic appointment booking system. The majority of referrals to hospital are made through this electronic booking system, which is usually a faster way of processing your referral. The system allows our doctors to offer you several different secondary care providers (hospitals) should you need to be referred for an elective procedure.

A booklet called ‘Choosing your hospital’ is available in the surgery, please ask for a copy.
