Kathryn Hargreaves
I originally took a post at Marple Cottage Surgery 16 years ago and have been involved in health informatics since we first started holding the patient records on computer in 1993. I have therefore more than 10 years experience in the many aspects of health informatics, including: clinical coding, clinical audit, IT training, disease register management and electronic patient record management. I widened my knowledge in health informatics by learning beyond the boundaries of the Practice and in 2000 gained a Diploma in Information Management and Technology (Health).
All areas of my job come under the umbrella heading of either Clinical Governance and/or Information Governance as the two are inextricably linked. I have to ensure that the doctors and staff at Marple Cottage Surgery are working to improve data quality in the practice with specific emphasis on information to support patient care.
