After qualifying in Manchester in 1971 and completing posts in obstetrics and gynaecology, paediatrics, dermatology and general medicine, Dr Wells entered this Practice in Marple in 1974. His main interests are dermatology, minor surgery, the management of chronic diseases in primary care, vasectomy and taking exotic holidays (Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia, Peru, Cuba, California, Florida, Zanzibar, Brazil and more recently the Seychelles to name a few).

His areas of non-clinical responsibility in the Practice are finance and prescribing. He is a GP trainer (responsible for the training of young GP registrars) and an undergraduate tutor.
