Dr Fleming graduated from Glasgow University and, after working in the UK, obtained a job in Hong Kong.  He left 25 years later having run a successful private general practice with special interests in Sports Medicine, Aviation Medicine and Insurance Medicine.  He was appointed Medical Coordinator for a number of prestigious international sporting events, including the Hong Kong International Rugby Sevens.  He was also the medical consultant for the company that provided the ground services for the building of the new Chek Kep Lak airport.

Since his return, 6 years ago, he has been studying for an MSc in Sports Medicine.  However the lure of returning to general practice proved too strong and he obtained the position of GP Registrar at Marple Cottage Surgery in August 2007.

Dr Fleming has many interests outside medicine, especially in a wide variety of sports.
